New Times Require New Methods of Organizing Ourselves

The upheaval in the world today requires that we reorganize ourselves in ways that would make the system work for us instead of us for those in positions of power. History has organized people according to the needs of those in charge and not the people that they claim to represent. Today a new method of organizing ourselves is required. In the past mankind organized itself for defense from one another.

Today times have changed. Now we need to organize ourselves in ways that will bring us together instead of keeping us a part. This will require us to circumvent those that feel that it is their duty to determine the direction that everyone should take. Organizing ourselves to gain from a new tomorrow that will be designed to bring us together must be based on individual freedom and responsibility. This individual freedom and responsibility must be linked and applicable to all.

This can only be done in a system of organization designed to make the members within it responsible to one another for the reasons that they would have associated themselves together for. This system of organization would also have to be controlled by those that it was meant to serve. This will require that it be formed by those that actually need their services. It will also require that these same organizations be disposable and only have a life span determined by those that they were meant to serve.

This could be provided by a system of organization in which people would politically entrust themselves together in order to achieve their common purpose. By entrusting our relationships together, we would be able to organize ourselves in ways that would benefit those within the relationship because it would be formed to meet the needs of those that it was designed to service. This is what my system of Cooperativism is all about.

Finally Putting The People In Charge

The people are voicing their feelings around the world. We have reached a turning point. Will the people continue to be told what is in their best interest or will the people themselves determine their own future? The future calls for a new way of organizing ourselves that will actually put the people in charge of those that are supposed to operate on their behalf. I call for a new way of organizing ourselves that will put those that are to receive services in charge of those that are to provide it.  I propose that we reorganize ourselves in a new way in which we politically entrust ourselves to one another into political and government units that will be determined by the people that are to receive their services.

The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same

Our current situations here and around the world are showing us that today is more like yesterday than we like to believe. In the past people were expected to subsidize their rulers because their welfare was seen to be all about the interests of the rulers who were seen to be working in the interest of their people. But, of course, the interests of the rulers were never the interests of their people. They used their people’s wealth and blood to enrich themselves at the expense of the people that they always claim to be representing.

Today, have things changed? The rich today are subsidized at the expense of the people. The rich receive tax cuts while the people that created the wealth and whom the system was actually designed to serve loose the security that they worked so hard to achieve. I guess you could say the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Civil Trusts as Free Economic Entities (Zones)

Within my forthcoming book Cosmopoly the civil trusts that would provide the institutional foundation of Cooperativism would be separate and interdependent economies. Civil trusts would be free economic entities that would be formed to deal with all of the particular needs of various groups of people. Within civil trusts members would be able to manage their own entrusted economic relationships. Civil trusts would be free economic entities in which the entrusted membership would pay taxes as a group instead of as individuals.

A system of civil trusts would allow each group of people to collectively deal with providing for their own needs first. The membership of each civil trust would be able to service themselves before their having to collectively pay taxes to any higher levels of government. This would also provide those higher levels of government, the private sector and the non-profits, targeted communities for them to help support and invest in.

The reason civil trusts would be more free economic entities then free economic zones are because they would not be limited to any particular location. The membership of a civil trust could be from many different locations. What would make them members of the same civil trust would be their membership account with it. The membership account of a civil trust would be linked to the products that it would be entrusted to it. This means that no matter where a particular entrusted product was purchased it would be entrusted to the entrusted members that would purchases it.
